What Rotato is
Rotato is a 3D mockup generator and animator. Its site (checked October 2026) says the desktop app runs on macOS 11 or newer, a web version is in public beta, and a Windows version is not available. It has 30+ 3D devices and exports images and video for presentations, store images and social.
It is free to start, with no card and no usage limits on the trial, and a Pro upgrade.

Making a set in each
In Rotato you drop a screen recording or image onto a device, choose camera moves, and render a clip or still.
In Nuvex you upload screens and a description, and the AI designs a five-frame store set with a headline per frame.
When Rotato is the better choice
Honestly, in these cases:
Rotato makes video; Nuvex does not.
Tilted, rotating devices for hero images. The store itself reads best flat.
A cinematic device shot on a landing page is Rotato territory.

Can Rotato make App Store screenshots?
It can export stills you could use, but it is a 3D and animation tool. You still design the set and write the headlines. Nuvex makes the store set itself.
Does Rotato work on Windows?
Not yet, according to its site; a web version is in beta. Nuvex runs in any browser.
Should I use 3D mockups on the App Store?
Sparingly. Flat, big, front-on phones are easier to read at thumbnail size, which is why Nuvex keeps them that way.
